Re entry/ post ArtFest/ martian death flu/ and taxes

So ArtFest was mind blowing fabulous. Can't believe I ever begrudge the money spent. Was walking on clouds(indestructible art hero) after being there! Total immersion in creativity. Like all things incredible for me, finding words to describe the experience is a challenging task. Words like "amazing" and "fabulous" seem almost insulting.

I love Fort Worden! I have a long good history there and it feels a bit like coming home. I have heard they do artist in residence there. Should look into that would be a gift to create there on a longer time schedule.

I worked my artistic butt off while at Artfest. Met and reconnected with fabulous people. Always a hard choice between socializing and just putting my head down and making more art. I got some socializing in at the beginning of the week, but by the end was the walking art dead.

I came home from Artfest with a million ideas and inspirations boiling in my brain. Which I put to good use for a few days until I started cough up my lungs in this dry retched fashion. Now several of my beloveds have had this charming virus. But I was confidant that I was immune to such human weakness. But I was wrong, So wrong! So 7 days spent with the martian death flu and just in time for my highly procrastinated date with a box full of receipts and my favorite day of the year April 15th... death and taxes.... oh to be avoided!

But alas, I am now on the other side of all that. I am getting my strength back and starting crazy production for the University District Street Fair in Seattle on May 17,18th.

More art from Artfest pictures soon...

Back from Artfest! Wow! wow.. wow! Such an inspiring amazing experience! Finished this piece literally the day I was leaving for Artfest for the gallery. I was pleased by the way she came together, and some sweet soul gave her a new home.. Thanks!
Still sorting through all my treasures from Artfest. Met and reconnected with so many sweet people.

ArTfeSt TrAdeS

ok.. last minuting it in true procrastinator form!

Not really with the "theme" of Forest floor but Hell!

I never had been very good at following directions. lol..

So I had a bunch of hand made ceramic charms that I had made a while ago that the glaze didn't turn out very well and they ended up very bland and boring. So I had some burnt beeswax (another trip that didn't go the way I planned) that I decided to dip the charms in to create an nice aged patina. I am happy with the way they turned out and even had to keep a few for some projects.

So they are going in bags with my lil art cards that you can see in the back for all the HaPpY SilLy fUn trading at Art Fest.
